Ian Hare: Corona Fantasia

Merula Music is proud to offer Corona Fantasia by Ian Hare, who is the first Associate of Merula Music. A former organ scholar of King's College, Cambridge and a well-known composer and organ recitalist, Ian Hare composed this energetic and challenging work during the period of lockdown in early 2020. The title references not only the cause of the lockdown, but also the beautiful open stonework structure of the tower of Newcastle Cathedral, one of the great landmarks of Northern England.

Corona Fantasia is dedicated to the Cumbrian Society of Organists.
